Spirits of the River Festival is a benefit festival to raise money for operations of the borough of Ohiopyle. Ohiopyle borough has no income from over 1.5 million visitors each year.. no paid parking, no additional sales tax..
So in order to help keep toilets flushing and our river clean...along with other operations. We hold this festival to help raise money, and in the first three years raised $57,000 to help with repairs to our sewage plant, fix the town park playground, and help finally bring high speed internet into Ohiopyle.
So if you love Ohiopyle.. come to our festival and help us raise money to help Ohiopyle borough, our fire department and our community center.

“MR. TROMBONE,”HAROLD BETTERS, is a remarkable man who has enjoyed a career spanning over four decades and is admired and respected by fellow musicians, friends, and fans nation-wide.
With over a dozen albums and CD’s to his credit, Harold can be heard on jazz radio stations and in many area clubs.
Harold has performed with Louis Armstrong who described his sound as “rich and honest.” Other musicians he has worked with include Al Hirt, Slide Hampton, Ramsey Lewis, and Urbie Green. The Harold Betters Quartet toured with Ray Charles and appeared with comedian, Dick Gregory, at New York’s Apollo Theater.

Shelly McCombie has been performing in the Tri-State Area for over 40 years. Shelly began performing in local clubs at the age of 13 in a family group called the McRobs. The McRobs consisted of her father, her sister Valerie, her Uncle Mel, her cousin Lenny, and a good friend, Ruth McKnight. While attending Penn State and California University, receiving her Bachelors Degree in Education, Shelly would make it home every weekend to play music.
