Project WILD is a K-12 interdisciplinary conservation and environmental education program emphasizing wildlife.
The goal of project WILD is to assist students of any age in developing awareness, knowledge,skills and commitment to result in informed decisions, responsible behavior and constructive actions concerning wildlife and the environment.
Participation in this program provides teachers with a knowledge and background related to the environment and ecology, math and social studies education standards as well as more general knowledge about environmental education. Teachers will participate in hands-on activities and will receive the Project WILD teacher manual. There is a fee for this program.

The Great Gorge Trail is alive with nature's adornment after a long winter sleep. Many plants and flowers bloom to mark the beginning of spring. In celebration of Earth Day, we will identify them and talk about their many uses according to various folklore. This short hike is on one of Pennsylvania's best wildflower areas (Great Gorge Trail). The Annual National Road Festival is held the third weekend in May. It is known as the "world's longest festival" happening along 300 miles of the Historic National Road in Pennsylvania (Route 40) through Somerset, Fayette, and Washington Counties. It is organized by volunteers from every community along the Historic Corridor. An authentic wagon train make its way from town to town.

French and British forces will encamp in the Great Meadows at Fort Necessity National Battlefield.
Reenactors portraying colonial Virginia Troops, along with the Compagnie Franches de la Marines du Contrecoeur, will be available throughout the day to answer questions about their equipment and supplies.
The day will include special programs at and demonstrations. Visitors will be able to tour the authentic encampment of soldiers and watch historic weapons demonstrations.

If your Scouts are looking for a fun experience as well as a merit badge, the Wilderness Voyageurs Boy Scout Fly Fishing Merit Badge Program is the way to go.
Join us in Ohiopyle, where we are surrounded by the Laurel Highland's fly-fishing paradise. A short cast out the back door will land in the Youghiogheny River, and a long cast out the front door will land in Meadow Run.
